About Air Conditioning
Air conditioning is a way of controlling temperature
(heating and cooling), humidity, air cleanliness,
and ventilation. Temperature can be controlled from
17-28 degrees, plus or minus of 2 degrees, in both
cooling and heating modes.
It does this by absorbing the energy from one place
and releasing it in another. The process requires an
indoor unit, an outdoor unit and copper piping to
connect both. Through the piping the refrigerant
flows from one unit to another. It is the
refrigerant that absorbs the energy in one unit and
releases it in the other.
Air conditioning units can be divided into two main
types - portable and fixed systems. As implied, portable
systems can be easily moved and are ideal for temporary
or mobile cooling.
The alternative to portable units is a fixed air con
system. These offer greater cooling abilities and tend
to be more efficient, both financially and energy wise
than portable units.
Fixed air systems come in many different types:

·
Wall and Floor Mounted
·
Under Ceiling
·
Ducted Systems
·
Multi Systems
·
Cassette
·
VRF and VRV |
Viewing the individual manufacturer pages within this
site will provide you with more detail.
Fixed air conditioning units are by nature more complex,
together with existing regulations regarding handling
refrigerant gases, installation of these systems should
be carried out by air conditioning experts.
